Valentine’s Nail: Matte About You

Happy Valentines! Yes, your not seeing things, this is the second post of the day. But as I was pampering myself up to go to the cinema (what! Moulin Rouge one of my all time favourites is in cinema for one day and you expect me to stay home?!) and painting my nails, I realised just how perfect my nails were for Valentine’s day and I couldn’t not write about it. The post had to happen today, Valentine’s day or just not happen at all.

My nails are a gorgeous deep matte red, perfect for Valentine’s day. For some weird reason my matte topcoat didn’t make the tips of my nails as matte as the rest but I’m really not complaining at all because I honestly like the results. For my red, I used the gorgeous Filthy Gorgeous London nail polish in .. wait for it.. Valentine. Yes truly I am wearing Valentine on my nails for Valentine’s day and its a red, how much more perfect can it get. This colour looks gorgeous on, I love how it suits my skin tone, and at university I’ve already had compliments on the colour. This costs £9.00 and you can pick it up here.

For my matte coat I used Essie Matte About You which is a really good matte coat but you have to make sure you really shake the bottle before application because it can act up and be a little funny and sometimes give a streaky matte finish which is highly annoying. But a good shake usually sorts that out. I love the look and feel of matte nails and I think that this is essential in my nail polish collection. This is £8.99 and you can find it here
