Naked palette 2
The rumour mill (and my heart) has been running crazy over the past couple of weeks regarding Urban Decay and a rumoured release of the NAKED 2 PALETTE. As an obsessed freak of the original palette, I was so excited and had every part of my body crossed that it wasn’t just a little rumour but instead a face.
AND THEN..
Urban Decay decided to taunt me with images, whilst confirming my deepest desire, the Naked 2 Palette wasn’t a myth after all!! As you can probably guess, I was over the moon. On their facebook page UD posted this little cheeky sneek peek:
How cheeky are they!
AND that did it! I couldn’t contain the urge any longer.
I did what any beauty obsessed being would do, I trawled google, and a billion different blogs and sites till I found pictures, oh yes I did. The internet is going to be flooded soon with swatches and reviews but I thought I’d get my readers all the best pictures out their so far and let you know what my first impressions are!
Officially is the US (not the UK yet *sad face*) the palette has been released today, the 1st of December. Oh how jealous of american citizens I am today. To confirm the release, UD finally released a full picture of the palette..
Oh I just want to eat it up. Although by now you’ve probably realised I am so crazy about the Naked palette, I have a sane good enough reason. I use it EVERY.SINGLE.DAY that I wear make up. The usual primer is missing from this palette, but instead comes with a gorgeous mini lip junkie in Naked, a lovely rosey colour that I cannot wait to get my hands on!
Moving onto the colours in the palette, one a first quick glance they look quite similar to the original palette, however there are more matte colours in there (yay for me) The Naked 2 seems to have much more muted gold tones, and warm tones compared to the others but for me the clear winner is the matte black. I know this palette will create the ultimate smokey eyes for me personally.
There are less glittery colours in this palette, and you wont hear me complaining about that at all. I love my subtle shimmers and matte shades, ah everything about this palette is screaming my name! I also have a swatch picture I managed to find for you, and its in the same order as the palette. Going from left (foxy) to right (blackout):
Ooo how pigmented does that black look, super super excited now! I’m tempted to pay ridiculous postage and packaging now, to get it in from the states! The colours from left to right are:
1.Foxy
2.Half Baked
3.Bootycall
4.Chopper
5.Tease
6.Snakebite
7.Suspect
8.Pistol
9.Verve
10.YDK
11.Busted
12.Blackout (think this will be my favourite!)
I love the fact that shade no.1 Foxy seems to be a matte colour, which means I can use it as a highlight. Personally I don’t like shimmery highlights under my brow bone or inner corners, so in the original palette I didn’t use any of the shades as a highlight.. BUT NOW, I won’t have to carry an individual highlight shade!
The only repeated shade is Half Baked which is hands down the best gold shadow I have ever used and I dare someone to show me a better one. Although I used Buck and Naked much more in the original palette, Half Baked was still my favourite shade. Oh wow, its like they designed this whole palette around what I like. Good work UD!
And finally, I bought 2 original Naked palettes, so I got both the eyeliner and the brush. Without a doubt I loved the brush so much more. I feel the creamy consistency of the eyeliner is great, but it finishes really quickly. But the brush, its weight feels luxurious, the bristles are really well put together and it really did feel better than my Mac brushes for some reason. The quality of the brush felt much more expensive if that makes sense!
So imagine my delight at this double ended UD brush that comes with the palette! With a blending brush on one end!!
I cannot wait for this to be released in the UK (if I can wait it out that this!), and without a doubt this will be joining my collection. I love bargains and budget good quality makeup, but I feel with this palette and the original palette, your getting so much for your money.. it really is an investment.
How about you? Would you buy this? If you are in the states have you picked it up already? What do you think of it?
Let me know I’d love to hear from you
