Benefit cosmetics have become quite a staple in my makeup collection, especially Coralista (which smells so good!) I think it suits so many skin tones that I tend to go for that blusher over the others when choosing gifts for family and friends. It’s become a bit of a tradition for Benefit to release a new boxed blush every last week of January! All of them have been a hit for me ( except dandelion simply because it didn’t suit me ) and gosh am I looking forward to the 2012 release!!
The blush goes by the name of Hervana.
At first glance it reminded me of Sugarbomb, because of the multiple colours as you can see from the picture above. But without doubt Sugarbomb has much more gold tones in it whereas Hevana has much more pinkish tones. Both of them I love, but I’m happy that Benefit is bringing out a pinky blush to rival my much loved Bellabamba.
The blush features four shades, made for this blush, and these four shades are: lucky shell, divine peach, heavenly rose and berry delight which blend together to create a really healthy pink flush. There is a tiny hint of shimmer in them but definitely not enough to notice straight away which is good!
As you can see, Benefit seemed to have listened when we said that we wanted the brush to be different… and it seems from the PR pictures that the brush is now slanted, so better to sweep on to our cheeks yay!
The name Hervana is a collaboration of Her and Nirvana = Hervana! Now the concept behind Hervana is all about angels and fallen angels and a few chosen bloggers were given the blush to look at previous to the launch date. We’ve had sneek peeks into the packaging that came with the blush, and Benefit sent the blushes in boxes of cotton wool with angel wings floating around.. it looked oh so cute. You can be sure that the Hervana launch will result to Benefit artists on the counters wearing something along the lines of halos and wings!
I find that a lot of Benefit products bounce off one another and work really well combined. Like my favourite, Coralista, goes really well with the ChaCha tint, a tropical coral based lip and cheek tint. The tint really makes my blush pop and makes the colour more vibrant. I think that with Hervana, the tint Posie Tint will go really well with it and I am looking forward to swatching it and mixing it with other products too. Benefit recommend Hervana and High Beam the highlighter together and again I’m going to have to try that out as High Beam does have a pinkish hue that seems like it would compliment Hervana.
Benefit describe Hervana as a “soft orchid-blossom flush” and already I am itching to get my hands on it and start showing you guys just how it look on my skin, or mixed with Posie tint. I will without doubt be getting it on the launch date so I will re-upload this post with the swatches and pictures!
It is already out online is the states but not yet in stores from what I can gather, but it will be out in the UK on the last week of January. So look out for that post
Updated: The release date in the UK is the last Saturday of January, so the 28th!
This post has been posted one day late, I said yesterday but unfortunately I fallen rubbishly ill. I hate flu illnesses. BUT rather than be sad and depressed I’m going to talk about happy things like..
GlossyBox Christmas Edition!
So, I received mine over a week ago, and slowly have been testing products out so I can give a more informed review. But initially seeing the box I was immediately in the Christmas spirit over it! Look how pretty it is! I thought I loved the pink box simply because it was pink (my favourite colour ever ever) but now, I just don’t know! Which one do you prefer?
Opening it up, I immediately saw big large full size products, just what I like
Looks yummy doesn’t it? It was pretty hard to miss the huge hot pink can in the middle of the box, so naturally that’s the first product I picked up! I expected maybe hair spray, or shaving cream or hair mousse something along those lines but for sure, not shower gel! I don’t know about you but my shower gel comes out of a tube or bottle!
Well it happened to be just that, RITUALS Foaming Shower Gel. Mine happened to be in Indian Rose & Sweet Almond, but I still don’t know how it smells due to this stupid flu thing I have, I’ve lost my sense of smell! However I can let you know that it does lather up really well and doesn’t feel light and cheap. To buy it is £6.50, slightly expensive for every day shower gel in my opinion but I think I might treat myself to it in the future well I want a me-day!
Next is MEMEME Seventh Heaven
Its described as, A luxurious moisturising facebase enriched with active nutrients and extracts to prime and nourish skin.
Personally I don’t really use face base or primers myself as I find it dries my skin out, I know really weird, but I did feel the texture and it felt creamy and moisturising but I’m still to scared to try it on my face. I think I’ll have to ease myself into it, simply because I’ve had bad experiences with primers but I will take the plunge and try it out sometime soon so watch this space. But I did manage to get a whiff of it in a rare occasion where I could smell and it smelt citrusy and yummy and so different to the usual floral scents.
I feel really upset about something so I thought I would get it off my chest. Recently through the internet I discovered a palette I knew had to be mine. I just knew it. Unfortunately it seemed like it was only available in the US and in Sephora stores in Europe, a store we do not have in the UK. It was the NARS Danmari All About Cheek palette. How beautiful does this look?
It has the Casino bronzer in it too, which is perfect for my skin as NARS Laguna is too light for me. It has the Hungry Heart highlighter, again another colour I adore. It has Orgasm, Super Orgasm and Sin and I cant remember the name of the hot pink one but I have swatched these many times in store but never got around to spending around £25 on them. Don’t get me wrong I have always wanted NARS blushes, just never got around to buying them as they are quite expensive.
So imagine my delight when I went on NARS UK website, and then found the palette for £45! YES dreams do come true. On top of that they had free shipping on at the time, and a code to get a free mini super orgasm blush if you spent over £30. (The NARS voucher code for a free super orgasm blush if you spend over £30 is LOVENARS )
I was so happy, but being practical as always I knew I’d be going to a SPACE:NK store the next day, and I’d be able to check if they have the palette in store because its always best to see it with your own eyes before buying and plus that way I’d get it straight away. So the next day like I promised myself I went instore and asked, and no alas it was only online so I returned home with a few other bits and bobs, with the promise I’d buy it when I got home.
BUT, I forgot. Yes I forgot. So quickly today 3 days later (as I first saw it online on the 7th) I rushed online and went to their website AND IMAGINE MY HORROR…
3 days later, its gone. I know it said exclusive, I know it said limited edition but seriously? 3 Days? I feel gutted as I know that would’ve been a really good investment and worth my money. I have emailed NARS UK and I have got their phone number (office is closed during the weekend so will call them Monday morning) but I have that sinking feeling in my stomach that it won’t be coming back. Just my luck, but I think it is fair to say, I am not a happy bunny today
